Dirigible Systems is the premier fog computing company enabling our client’s applications to be smarter and more responsive
Our mission is to be Westminster’s, Maryland’s, and eventually the nations premier fog computing company allowing the web to be smarter and more responsive. We will empower our clients with innovative computing solutions at the network edge and with a vendor neutral platform.
We will also commitment to being good stewards of the web and to provide our expertise openly wherever possible. We wish to partner with others who share this commitment so that the web may be kept open for all to use.
Dirigible was founded in January 2020 as the brainchild of Julius Knapp III and Christopher Nallo. Having previously worked together to produce the mobile application for the Maryland Mallet and with extensive experience producing a variety of cloud computing systems, they partnered to address the problems of scale they experienced. Specifically, they found that applications were limited in their responsiveness and security. Fog computing, a potential paradigm shift originally developed in 2011, emerged as the solution.
Since its founding, Dirigible has been honored to be selected as a finalist for the Carroll Biz Challenge in its first year of operation. We were also awarded our first contract with the DoD to provide our expertise. And last but certainly not least, our original customer, the Maryland Mallet, has continued to use our service.
In the coming months, we expect continued growth in our government contracting and in our mobile and web application development. We are especially excited to launch our first public fog computing instance. With this new platform, the next generation web can finally become a reality.
